The Price
In 1995, a group of children living in an old apartment building in Detroit found a door into a alien world. A tangled labyrinth of brick, stone, and thorn that held strange fairy tale creatures. Some people and places reminded them of their normal life, while others were strange and fantastic. Were they dreaming or was this real?
They found the market, a place where one’s dreams could be bought. Or sold. You can get anything there as long as you pay the price. The real price however wasn’t the tails of three rats that died of fright or the memory of a pleasant evening with their parents.
The Price is allowing magic into one’s life. Once you pay that price there is no way out. Magic will continue to intrude, requiring larger and larger prices to fix. And the price for fixing that will be your humanity.
